The roots of The Plant Whisperer stretch back to when I was just eight years old.
I grew up with an instinctive pull towards plants and the outdoors- drawn to the way leaves moved in the wind, the smell of soil after the rain, and small miracles of seeds becoming something beautiful.
Nature became my safe place, a quiet refuge where I could be myself. As I grew older, life brought its share of challenges. At 16 I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I often found myself returning to nature, not just as a hobby, but as a way to process and heal. Tending to plants reminded me of life's rhythms- growth, rest, renewal- and how even after the harshest winters, something green always finds a way to push through.
In November 2025, my brother Robin passed away. He was only 48. This has shook me to my core. In my grief, I found myself leaning on nature more than ever- not gently, but almost urgently- seeking its grounding presence to keep me standing.
Today, The Plant Whisperer is both a tribute to that lifelong bond with nature and a way to share it with others. I create gentle rituals, reflections, and tools that invite you to use plants and nature as companions in your own journey- whether you are grieving, growing, or simply searching for a moment of peace.
For me, plants have always been more than something to look at.
They listen.
They teach.
And they remind us that even in our most fragile seasons, we can still find ways to bloom.
